August Challenge...All About Me...

This picture was taken back in July of this year while on vacation in Laughlin, Nevada the cow was there in one of the casinos and I just could not resist. I use Faber Castell Design Memory gelatos, stamps and rub ons to make the page . Thanks for stopping by and looking have a great day.

Ah....Life

I am having a blast playing in my art journal and making mixed media canvas. I have found my passion and never knew it was there until I started watching some youtube vids... I love getting my hands dirty from using my fingers to paint(wooohoooo for finger painting) it's just as much fun at 40 as it is at 4......LOL

First Mixed Media Canvas

Good morning/afternoon to you all. It's a beautiful Monday morning in Oklahoma when you walk outside and your makeup doesn't sweat off....LOL Only supposed to be 92 degrees today much better than the 105 we were having last week.

I created my first canvas for a challenge be held by Limor on facebook  https://www.facebook.com/#!/groups/405073446194833/ we were to use one of the techniques we learned from her and to also use a stencil... This is my entry for the challenge.

I am very happy and pleased with the end result. The template for the girl I got from a very talented  fellow blogger Gabrielle over at Such a Pretty Mess http://gabriellepollacco.blogspot.com/2012/06/mixed-media-fun-with-bo-bunny-template.html please go over and check out her work you won't be disappointed. Thank you Gabrielle for making your template available to all of us.

First Challenge for Forever Night Challenges

I have some exciting news to share starting July I will be a design team member for Forever Night Challenges http://forevernightchallenges.blogspot.com/2012/06/freaky-friday-challenge-41.html. I am excited to be working with Jamie and the rest of the design team. I decided to get my feet wet before I actually start my design team term and joined a challenge. The challenge was Steampunk the images are from Sassy Studio Designs. We were to also use metal in the challenge. Of course I had to choose both images and create two projects. I hope everyone enjoys my creations. Please stop by and check out Forever Night Challenges.

The First is an art journal page: I used aluminum tape for the background and used gold rub-n-buff and some metal pieces. I hope everyone likes:

For my second challenge I created a birthday card for my husband. I used cardboard for the background, aluminum tape and metal pieces. This is only my 3rd card I ever made.

What's happening....LOL

Oh boy did not realize it had been so long since I have blogged. No excuses just haven't done it, my plans are to keep up with blog post there may not be a project with every post but I will plan on posting often.

Things sure have changed for me over the last several months. I was in a creative slump and over doing the swaps and burned my self out and got burned in swaps also. I am no longer a member at MAS's ning site due to circumstances that I will not go into details about except that I got booted. I didn't just get up and leave I would never do so with out an explanation. But don't worry I have found a new home with some of my family that was at MAS also. But during this whole process you do learn who your true friends are..

We are chatting it up over at http://scrappingcarolina.ning.com/ which was opened and run by Tamara Hazel. She has some great challenges going on and just opened up her first swap. Loving the challenges. So if you've wondered were I've been hiding you now know. So drop by and see us and chat and have a good laugh. Okay enough rambling I hope to have a project completed and posted this week.

Oh and I have picked up the art journaling bug....so maybe I will share a page from my journal. This is still a work in progress but is a great stress reliever...I hope everyone has a wonderful week...

BAD GIRL

I have been a very bad girl in neglecting my blog lately....I don't know why.....but hey I'm going to get better at this..I have been in a bunch of swaps over at http://www.minialbumscraps.ning.com/ and have pics of all of them I need to post but once again I have neglected my blog...I will get back in the swing of things and get some pics posted on here of some of my projects so you know I am actually crafting...

Minialbumscraps

Hi fellow bloggers I know it has been a while but as you all know life has a way of sneaking up on you and taking over but I had to post some exciting news. I am now a team member over at http://www.minialbumscraps.ning.com/, which by the way if you haven't visited yet you need to hurry up and go over and do that...Why you ask well I'm going to tell you we have some wonderfully awesome talented ladies who are a joy to visit with...chat is constantly hopping and we are one big happy family....no drama and we support each other in every way possible not just crafty support but support in every other way possible....

Okay now for the exciting news (lol) we at http://www.minialbumscraps.ning.com/ are having a design team call all members must have their projects in by August 10th, 2011. So now let me tell you what you need to do you will create two original works one can be an altered item, canvas, wall hanging or your choice and the second must be a mini album (to represent our site minialbumscraps) the mini must not be larger than an 8x8 and can be as small as a 1x1 if thats what you want to create...also you can create your mini from whatever you choose(chipboard, canvas, burlap, plexi glass, wood, cardstock etx...) you have creative control over your projects. Now for your projects you must post them on your blog, youtube and facebook if you have any or all three with a link back to our site and your projects will be featured on the front page of the site. Members will vote for their favorites and then the Admin. team will make the final decision of who will make up our first design team.

The swaps are awesome we have some amazing ones taking place right now and more to come in the future and don't be worried about getting burned or flaked because we have very strict guidelines that we do enforce for example we have to check in weekly, when mailed we post our confirmation numbers so the host can keep track of where packages are and if you flake on a swap and have not communicated beforehand with the hostess or one of the team members you are not allowed to swap at minialbumscraps anymore. Yes it sounds harsh but we are looking out for the serious swappers and those that enjoy the swapping and want a postive swap.
