BAD GIRL

I have been a very bad girl in neglecting my blog lately....I don't know why.....but hey I'm going to get better at this..I have been in a bunch of swaps over at http://www.minialbumscraps.ning.com/ and have pics of all of them I need to post but once again I have neglected my blog...I will get back in the swing of things and get some pics posted on here of some of my projects so you know I am actually crafting...

Minialbumscraps

Hi fellow bloggers I know it has been a while but as you all know life has a way of sneaking up on you and taking over but I had to post some exciting news. I am now a team member over at http://www.minialbumscraps.ning.com/, which by the way if you haven't visited yet you need to hurry up and go over and do that...Why you ask well I'm going to tell you we have some wonderfully awesome talented ladies who are a joy to visit with...chat is constantly hopping and we are one big happy family....no drama and we support each other in every way possible not just crafty support but support in every other way possible....

Okay now for the exciting news (lol) we at http://www.minialbumscraps.ning.com/ are having a design team call all members must have their projects in by August 10th, 2011. So now let me tell you what you need to do you will create two original works one can be an altered item, canvas, wall hanging or your choice and the second must be a mini album (to represent our site minialbumscraps) the mini must not be larger than an 8x8 and can be as small as a 1x1 if thats what you want to create...also you can create your mini from whatever you choose(chipboard, canvas, burlap, plexi glass, wood, cardstock etx...) you have creative control over your projects. Now for your projects you must post them on your blog, youtube and facebook if you have any or all three with a link back to our site and your projects will be featured on the front page of the site. Members will vote for their favorites and then the Admin. team will make the final decision of who will make up our first design team.

The swaps are awesome we have some amazing ones taking place right now and more to come in the future and don't be worried about getting burned or flaked because we have very strict guidelines that we do enforce for example we have to check in weekly, when mailed we post our confirmation numbers so the host can keep track of where packages are and if you flake on a swap and have not communicated beforehand with the hostess or one of the team members you are not allowed to swap at minialbumscraps anymore. Yes it sounds harsh but we are looking out for the serious swappers and those that enjoy the swapping and want a postive swap.

Match Boxes For Swap on minialbumscraps.ning.com

I want to share some altered match boxes that I have done for a swap that I am participating in on http://www.minialbumscraps.ning.com/. These are my first matchboxes and had an awesome time making them for my swap partners and hope that they like them.

First this is the double matchbox that I made for my partner.

First I painted the box gray and then put crackle medium on it and the painted it green. Then I covered it with paper from Life's Journey from K & Co.  then put some bling on the top with some flowers  from I am Roses. On both  sides of the box I put bling with more flowers and made some prima look alike candy and then placed flowers on top of them.. The flowers were given to me by Nichole(minialbumscrapper)...

Second here is my altered single matchbox....

        The second box I covered with music paper from the Life's Journey K & Co. and on the sides I used some lace that I got in a RAK from Kelly(walkelmol) it is peach and I place off white flat black pearls along the top of the lace. On the top I fussy cut some flowers from the same K & Co. paper which I put on some pop dots and placed some pink Prima Say it with Pearls on the top.

I Am Crafting....

I started this blog to share my creations and have not beeen doing very well at that. I have been scrapping & altering for the last six months and I am finally going to share some of my creations with the blog world....(I know about time). I am a member of  minialbumscraps.ning.com and joined several of their swaps and would like to share with you what I created for them...

First I was in an ATC swap and these are my first ever ATC cards the criteria for the swap was it had to have green on the card

The ATC was made out of light weight chip board and coverd with papere from DCWV Whimsy collection, the image of the girl was found on the internet I cut her out and pasted her to the card put stickles on her shawl. The flowers are from I am Roses they were a gift from Nichole..and the bead trim on the bottom is from HL.

The second swap was a dress form swap and this is what I created for my partner.....

I used a template of a dress form I found on the interenet....used a photo mat and covered in the domestic goddess paper by DCWV, fussy cut the lady and placed her on pop dots....added the black flowers that I cut from some lace and made the skirt of the dress form with black lace.

Wonderful Ladie's

I signed up to be a member on the minialbumscraps.ning.com and let me tell you it is a wonderful site and the ladies have been so welcoming to me. I haven't scrapbooked in like 15 yrs and I have never done anyother type of papercrafting, mini albums, or altering of any kind and let me tell you these ladies have taken me under their wings and are helping me out a lot. They have been so accepting of this newbie and have gone above & beyond anything I ever expected.

I would like to thank them from the bottom of my heart. Tori, Nik, Kimi, Hope, Sarah, Divine & Linda you have been totally awesome to me and it means so much to me. I am proud to say that I have made some new friends and know that I can do anything because of all the encouragement they give me. Because of them I am making my first mini and when I'm done I will share my first actual project post...

If you have not checked out their ning site you should you will not be disappointed. I could go on forever about how wonderful they are but I will let you see for yourself. You guys rock and thank you again....

Materials Ruined

I will be the first to admit I didn't have much stuff because I had just started on my papercrafting fix, but I went to look through it last night to see what I had and it all is ruined...I guess when our roof got messed up in the ice storm a couple of years ago that was it for my few paper items and tools I had ( I know bad me for not using it in two years but life to over.LOL  Well I guess I get to start over which means shopping..yeah....;) If you would like to share any ideas on what to get just leave me a comment I'm looking forward to getting started after looking at all of your blogs and all the cool stuff you have done..
